Preschool

Gilwood Preschool offers a part day preschool program, Monday thru Friday, beginning in September and ending in May. We also offer an optional lunch bunch hour. Our total enrollment is sixty-four children. We have seven teachers and a total of eight classes. We offer small classes with a low student teacher ratio to promote individual growth. Music class is held on Wednesdays for the three, four, and five-day children. Chapel is also an important part of our week day program offering a children’s sermon, songs and prayer in the Sanctuary.

Each child that comes through our door enters a positive environment where he or she is loved, nurtured, and part of our family. Our staff works together to promote growth and physical, social, intellectual, language, emotional and spiritual developments. Positive values, attitudes, self-concept, and self-help skills are taught along with large and small motor skills.

Providing a quality program in a Christian environment is our goal with the philosophy of learning through play. We have many special visitors and planned events throughout the year.

School Hours: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Optional Lunch Bunch: 12:00 – 1:00 PM

Registration for new and returning students begins in January prior to the beginning of school in September.  Registration forms must be received before an application can be offered.

It is the policy of Gilwood Presbyterian Preschool to give first preference for enrollment to current students, siblings of children currently enrolled in the program, and to active members of Gilwood Presbyterian Church.

Should the class be filled, your child will be put on a wait-list and may be enrolled if any spaces become available.

The following criteria must be met to attend:

• Child must be 2, 3 or 4 by August 31st of the current year.
• Immunizations must be up to date and a current physical must be provided.
